When To Go With Your Gut

When To Go With Your Gut is a great article written by Jack Welch. It’s something that too few business people practice, in my experience.  The phrase “In God we trust.  For everyone else, bring me the data” springs to mind.  Too often, opportunities are lost because people want to analyse the inside measurements of the cat’s backside before making a decision, when speed is of the essence.  I agree with the word of caution he offers when it comes to recruiting people though; it’s too easy to get caught up in the moment during an interview and this is where it is essential that you pause for breath and objectively reflect on the individual.

I tend to offer my clients a recruiting template I created to ensure that they do their appropriate Due Diligence before offering someone a job, as it is extremely expensive to make a mistake in hiring – especially if you are a small business owner.

Time For New Strategy On ClockJack Welch captures the mood really well in this short article on LinkedIn.  You can read it here.
