10 Things People Selling Do That Make Them Seem Desperate
Have you ever been guilty of one or more of these? I know I have. It’s very easy to assume we know all we need to know when it comes to selling, but it’s not true. In today’s fast-paced economy, we need to continue to learn.
I recently signed up for a webinar and within an hour of signing up, the tirade of emails trying to sell me stuff began. My instant reaction was to think that these guys were desperate for business. They probably weren’t, but that’s how I felt and it prompted me to unsubscribe from their list.
Now I know we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but many of us (me included) have a tendency to. So, the key is not to take chances with the impression we give. There’s an article from Hubspot, which is a great place to start. If like many other business professionals, you’ve not had any formal sales coaching, you may not realise some of these traits. And in the heat of the moment, it’s as well to be aware of these 10 ‘sins’ before you commit them!
I would recommend a quick run-through of the article, as it will at least ensure you are more aware of the habits to avoid. Of course, you could always ask me to help you and your team develop a better approach. But until then, take a look at the article and decide for yourself. Are your prospects thinking you’re desperate for their business? If they do, it will almost certainly make negotiations harder for you. Check it out by clicking here.
